CIMCC --Where Seeds Take Root

Join CIMCC in celebrating 2026 Native Nonprofit Day, a national movement that uplifts and supports Native-led nonprofits across the country.

Help us honor what we’ve planted over the past 30 years by ensuring our next 30 years through a $30 donation or more at https://www.givenative.org/organization/CIMCC.

Just as seeds take root and grow into something strong and lasting, your support advances our work to sustain cultural knowledge, empower youth, and strengthen community resilience for years to come.

Every donation from May 7 through May 20 enters CIMCC into the Early Giving Period random drawing by the Native Ways Federation for $1,000 held on May 21

“In shooting [Native Max Magazine] here [at the California Indian Museum and Cultural Center], especially since it was started by my grandfather, I think we really embody the theme of legacy. Legacy for California Indian people is of the utmost importance, because our existence is continued resistance.” – Jayden Lim (Pomo/Miwok)

🎨 Native Arts Festival — Join Us in Windsor!

Celebrate culture, community, and creativity at the Native Arts Festival on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 11 AM to 4 PM at the Windsor Town Green.

This is a powerful, family-friendly event bringing together Native artists, dancers, storytellers, and community leaders for a day of connection and cultural sharing. Enjoy:
✨ Live dance performances
🎤 Storytelling and keynote speakers
🖼️ Native artwork and vendors
🌮 Delicious Native food
🤝 فرص to connect and learn

This event is hosted by the Progressive Tribal Alliance, a local nonprofit doing important work to uplift Native voices, culture, and leadership here in Sonoma County.

We’re proud to share that Supervisor Gore’s District 4 Office has helped fund this event over the past several years, supporting efforts like this that bring people together and strengthen community through culture and education.

Come out, bring your friends and family, and be part of something meaningful. Let’s show up, learn, and celebrate together.

🌿🐻 Now Open: Being with Bears 2026! 🐻🌿

We invite Native youth (ages 12–20) to join Being with Bears 2026, a summer program rooted in cultural connection, wildlife conservation, and hands-on learning.

From May–October 2026 (weekends), participants will explore ancestral land stewardship through activities like wildlife camera tracking, mapping, habitat exploration, and field journaling. Youth will also engage in storytelling, connect with elders, learn traditional ecological knowledge, interview wildlife experts, enjoy an overnight camping trip, and create a powerful photovoice project.

✨ Don’t miss this opportunity to learn, connect, and grow. Register today!
