This weekend is your last chance to experience Artistry in Wood!

This is the final weekend to see this incredible annual exhibition presented in partnership with the Sonoma County Woodworkers Association 🪵

A beloved tradition since 1988, Artistry in Wood celebrates some of the finest woodworking talent in North America — from stunning furniture and intricate turnery to sculptural works that blur the line between craft and fine art.

Each piece on display was carefully selected for its exceptional craftsmanship, creativity, and design. Congratulations again to this year’s award winners whose work continues to inspire and elevate the field of woodworking.

We’re so grateful to everyone who has come out to support local artists and makers and help keep this beautiful tradition thriving.

Don’t miss your final chance to see it this weekend!

Punk was never just about music. It was about expression, community, rebellion, and creating something of your own. 🎸

In this conversation, guest curator Gabe Meline — Arts & Culture Editor at KQED — reflects on the Sonoma County punk scene that helped shape this exhibition, from legendary Green Day shows to the women creating zines in the ‘90s and the DIY culture that gave so many people a voice.

Many of the pieces featured in DISTURBING THE PEACE come directly from Gabe and his friends’ personal collections, including vintage shirts, instruments, flyers, and original zines from the era.

He also shares why punk’s message of self-expression still matters today, maybe now more than ever.

Proof that punk isn’t dead 🎸

DISTURBING THE PEACE: Sonoma County’s Early Punk Underground captures a movement that was loud, rebellious, and completely audacious for its time. Punk in the late ’70s and ’80s challenged authority, rejected polished mainstream culture, and gave people a raw, DIY way to express themselves — whether through music, fashion, zines, or art. It wasn’t just a sound, it was a form of resistance.

This exhibition dives into Sonoma County’s local punk scene and the artists, musicians, and outsiders who helped shape it. Expect rare footage, handmade zines, vintage flyers, photographs, and immersive listening moments that bring the energy of the era back to life.

🗓 On view through August 23, 2026

We caught up with longtime punk locals about their first shows, and the stories are wild, unfiltered, and impossible to forget!

Disturbing the Peace pulls you into a scene that never asked for approval. It created its own rules, its own art, and a ripple effect that’s still felt today.

This is Sonoma County punk—gritty, expressive, and very much alive. Come experience the energy that redefined what breaking the rules could look like.
