What's on my studio table today?
I have a collection of stained raw canvas pieces. These will head over to my sewing machines.
I love my Florida sunsets, so that is my inspiration for this one.

I'm falling in love with my palette paper. Lol.
Felt cute. Might delete later.

I'm so happy to have my art studio built and to be able to paint steps from my door. I can go to my studio and paint if I wake up at 4am or if I'm still in the flow at 10pm.
This was a dream at one point and that dream has become a reality. What a world! ❤️

Mixed media artists... what's your favorite fixative? I use a lot of pastels, charcoals and crayons over acrylic paint. I'm not necessarily here promoting Spectra Fix Degas spray, but I do like that it's non-toxic and I can spray it inside. I prefer this spray nozzle in the video - Fake aerosol. It sprays well. However, I find that I have to use multiple layers and sometimes it still doesn't "fix" things. I really dislike using true aerosol and the smell is terrible... the toxic versions don't work much better than this either.
Advice welcome!

Undulate I & II are headed off to Longboat Key tomorrow to be hung in the Town Hall. Each 6x6 textured mixed media piece on wood panel sits in a white floating frame. They flow nicely into one another, making an excellent beachy diptych for a small space.
$100 each.

It's October - breast cancer awareness month - and the perfect time to repost this painting.
Extra Pink! celebrates the female form, feminine resilience, and of course the color pink - a favorite of mine 🩷
I'm going to get my mammogram next week and you should too, if you're due. Take care of those ta-tas, ladies!

I'm really enjoying exploring cold wax and oil. It's been a fun way, in addition to a separate sketchbook challenge I'm participating in, to get back into the studio groove.
