Saratoga Arts is a non-profit arts service organization dedicated to developing and promoting a thriving year-round cultural environment in Saratoga-area communities. Since 1997, Saratoga Arts has operated The Arts Center at the corner of Broadway and Spring Street in Saratoga Springs, where it welcome viewers to exciting art exhibits, stimulates students of all ages and skill levels in a wide var

iety of art classes and workshops, presents performances of all genres and hosts programs by other arts organization, and funds many programs that bring the arts to every corner of Saratoga. In 2010, the organization was awarded five pieces of World Trade Center steel from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey; regional artists John Van Alstine and Noah Savett transformed the material into a large scale sculpture called Tempered By Memory, and upon its completion, Saratoga Arts donated the work to the City of Saratoga Springs for permanent display at High Rock Park. Directed by a professional staff and a volunteer Board of Directors, with support from many community volunteers, Saratoga Arts enriches the lives of those who live, work in, and visit the Saratoga region and has established itself as a vital force for the arts in upstate New York. Many Saratoga Arts programs are made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M.

Have you heard?! đź‘‚

We've teamed up with Saratoga Arts to bring kids ages 12-14 together for a truly multi-media experience this summer!

Students will spend full days the week of July 13-17 creating beautiful work:

🪵 Mornings at the Joinery building awesome projects in the machine room under the guidance of high school shop teacher Karen Cavotta, and

🎨 Afternoons at Saratoga Arts creating beautiful work with local artist Emily Bookmiller!

Kids will come away from this week with real skills in woodworking, clay sculpture, painting with acrylics, and confidence in themselves as an artist.

🌱 This potting bench and polymer clay plant label stakes are two of the six corresponding projects our little artists will make!

Opening reception tomorrow 6:00-8:00 pm! Come see Illuminate with Victoria Palermo and Adam Ti**le and Entangled Solo Exhibition of Page Darrow! Free and open to the public.

On Tuesday, May 19th 5:00-7:00 pm, we will dedicate the gallery to the Dake Family and Stewart’s Shops.

An artist talk will be held on Saturday, May 30th 3:00- 5:00 pm moderated by Ian Berry. Followed by short films by Adam Ti**le at 6:00 pm. Free and open to the public.

Illuminate considers light as both a natural and artificial phenomenon. Artists Victoria Palermo and Adam Ti**le come together to echo our everyday encounters with light, examining how it leaves physical and psychological traces on the body and mind. In Illuminate, viewers are immersed in saturated colors and geometric forms that reflect natural and digital spaces. Both natural and artificial light serve to illuminate (to see and learn), to heal (to restore and mend), and to delight (to fascinate and entertain). As the world continues to navigate both physical and digital space, the balance we find between these two light sources becomes increasingly essential.

Entangled: Page Darrow Solo Exhibition explores knitted patterns and repetition, resulting in paintings that lie between abstraction, landscape, and still life. Darrow uses repetition in her work, as a slow, contemplative reflection that allows for color, light, and shape to evolve while she works on a piece. She interrupts this repetition by breaking apart, expanding, and twisting together the knitted structures, simultaneously creating a sense of control and tension. The transformed knitted motifs reference natural matter of the ocean and earth, as she considers actual boundaries of inside and outside, and implied boundaries of craft and abstraction.
