This beautiful seahorse lives in the protected waters of Roatan, Honduras where the practice of harvesting, drying and selling seahorse skeletons to tourist has been outlawed . The Seahorse is a fascinating creature.. .a segmented body provides great agility to gain prime position to graze among the delicate corals .. with intricate symbiotic growth on their bodies that provide camouflage.. the color red is not visible at depth without artificial light , therefore the red spots and stripes on the seahorse also serve to protect from predators.
