Michelangelo’s Women is now open at Telfair Museums ✨

Last night, we welcomed the exhibition with an evening that brought together friends, art, and intrigue. The evening began with our Director’s Circle Toast & Preview before opening into a members’ reception at the Jepson Center, followed by a featured lecture from leading Renaissance scholar Dr. Gary Radke at Trinity United Methodist Church, our neighbors across the street.

Thank you to the partners who helped make the evening memorable: Traveling Mixtress for the bar, Hey Hunny for the charcuterie, Thrive Catering for passed hors d’oeuvres, Kaufman & Heinz for audiovisual support, and Maze Row W**e Merchant, Pieropan, and Argiano for their in-kind w**e donations.

Now, it’s your turn to experience Michelangelo’s Women: Images of Female Power and Divinity from the Casa Buonarroti.

See the exhibition at the Jepson Center through January 24, 2027.

Collectively on view for the first time in the United States, "Michelangelo’s Women: Images of Female Power and Divinity from the Casa Buonarroti" exhibition at the Jepson Center. Drawn from the historic collections of the artist’s own family, "Michelangelo’s Women" displays his drawings, poetry, and letters, to encourage visitors to think about the ways that Michelangelo looked at women and what women saw in his works. In addition to his works, reproductions of the Sistine Chapel ceiling and Last Judgment will allow visitors to have new, close studies of the women the artist included in his most famous works.
