This Memorial Day, the Scappoose Historical Society would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all Veterans and the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

As we gather with family and friends this holiday weekend, may we also take a moment to reflect on the courage, service, and dedication that helped preserve the freedoms we enjoy today.

We are deeply thankful for those who served, past and present, and for the families who stood beside them.

Wishing our community a safe, meaningful, and peaceful Memorial Day. ❤️

The Scappoose Historical Society is looking for community volunteers to help keep the museum and historic Watts House open on Saturdays this summer from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We are seeking four friendly volunteers each Saturday to greet visitors, welcome guests to the house and museum, and help share the history of our community.

You do not need to be a history expert — just someone who enjoys meeting people and supporting local heritage. Volunteering is fun, flexible, and a wonderful way to be involved in the community. Whether you can help once or several times during the summer, we would truly appreciate your support.

If you are interested in volunteering, please message us here on Facebook or contact the Scappoose Historical Society. Help us keep local history alive for visitors and future generations!
