Thank you to everyone who called to make sure we were OK following Hurricane Ida. We are, indeed, alive and well. Our porch cat, Miss Kitty, and Huey, our peacock also survived. We are hopeful that water and power will be restored to our home by September 29th (per Entergy). We will be closed for tours for some time as we make repairs to the structure.
For those from out of state who don't know, on August 29, the western eye wall of the storm with 150+ mph winds sat over our house for about 4 hours. We lost over 20 trees and will also need a new roof. We were the lucky ones; many in our Parish, lost everything and are now jobless and homeless. Please keep everyone in south Louisiana in your prayers.
