Watch our 2026 Tortilla Festival Re-cap Video!

The Huhugam Ki: Museum hosted their Annual Tortilla Festival with a fun filled day. Kicking off the event the Salt River Fire Department ran a torch from the Repository to the Huhugam Ki: Museum ground to start the fires that made the cemait/modilly for the day. Other activities throughout the day included food demos, tortilla classes, traditional demos, games & dancing! Thank you to all that came out to celebrate with us!

Watch our recap video of our class on Flint Knapping & Hafting! Thanks to all the participants.

Flint Knapping and Hafting class was held at the end of February; participants learned the art of flint knapping; creating arrowheads and/or darts using rocks and deer alters as tools. After creating arrowheads and/or darts participants learned hafting, making their own using tools such as wood rocks and darts. Keep up to date on upcoming events by following our social media pages.
