Lightning bugs...or fireflies? What did you call them growing up? ✨

These glowing members of the Lampyridae family are a sure sign that summer has arrived, and our nature preserve provides the perfect habitat for them to thrive.

Jois us for Firefly Fridays every Friday in June for a guided evening hike to our Oatka Creek meadow, an area not usually open to visitors, and experience the magic of fireflies in their natural habitat. We’ll provide the bug nets and jars—you bring the curiosity.
