I wanted to reach out to those who asked about a memorial service for Dr. Joe Olivieri. Details are here. This will be a time to reflect on his many contributions to the Rossetti Foundation and to honor our beloved board member. Rest in peace, Joe—we love you.

We’re Building Something New — And We’re Looking for Artists

The Rossetti Foundation is currently applying for grant support to launch a 4–5 day Artist Retreat at the Rossetti Estate in Scranton—and we’re beginning to gather interest from artists who may want to be part of it.

This retreat is designed as a creative crossroads, bringing together artists from across Northeastern Pennsylvania—and beyond—to connect, collaborate, and share their work in a meaningful way.

We are seeking interest from:
• Musicians
• Dancers
• Visual artists (painting, mixed media, installation)

Each discipline will have space to develop its own work, while also contributing to a shared, collaborative experience.

Artists selected for the retreat would be paid through grant funding, and the program will culminate in a public-facing showcase, helping to elevate both the artists and the region.

This initiative is about:
• Expanding regional visibility for artists
• Bringing new creative energy into Scranton and Lackawanna County
• Strengthening a growing arts and cultural community
• Supporting tourism through meaningful artistic experiences

We are also actively building partnerships with local and regional organizations to make this a dynamic and impactful program.

If you are an artist—or know someone who is—interested in being part of this opportunity, we invite you to reach out and express your interest.

Let’s build something meaningful—together.

Looking good!

Who This Retreat Is For
This gathering is for women who are holding a lot—and rarely have the space to pause and reflect on it.
They may be professionals, caregivers, creatives, entrepreneurs, or in transition. Some are building careers or businesses. Others are navigating change, uncertainty, or simply a desire for something more aligned and meaningful. Many are used to showing up for others, managing responsibilities, and moving forward without always having the time to check in with themselves.
What they share is not a single background, but a common need:
• A need to slow down and gain clarity
• A need to feel heard without pressure or expectation
• A need to reconnect with their voice, confidence, and direction
• A need for authentic connection that isn’t transactional or performative
In many spaces—especially professional ones—women are expected to present, perform, or produce. There is often little room for uncertainty, reflection, or honest conversation about challenges and growth.
This retreat offers something different.
It creates a setting where women can step out of those roles, even briefly, and enter a space that values presence over performance. Through guided conversation, shared experiences, and gentle reflection, participants are invited to explore their thoughts, articulate their goals, and gain insight through both speaking and listening.
For some, this may be a moment of clarity.
For others, a sense of reassurance.
For many, it is simply the realization that they are not alone in what they are navigating.
Ultimately, this retreat is for women who are seeking not just connection—but meaningful, grounded connection that supports their growth, their well-being, and their place within a larger community.

Thank you everyone who joined us yesterday what an amazing time! Thanks to all the artists!
