Today we begin drop offs for our Summer Members' Show featuring works from Afa's talented members!

Each member can submit up to 3 works for the exhibition which will open June 5th and be on display until June 27th.

Summers Members' Show Schedule

Drop offs:
Sunday May 31st 11-3pm
Monday June 1st 11-3pm
Tuesday June 2nd 11-3pm

Exhibit Preview and Membership Mixer
Thursday June 4th 6-8pm

First Friday Opening Reception
Friday June 5th 5pm-9pm

Exhibition Dates:
June 5th-27th

You can submit by filling out the online submission form in our linktree (for instagram in our bio, for facebook in description) or we also have paper forms available at the gallery during drop offs.

We will be closed Saturday May 23rd for Memorial Day Weekend. 🇺🇲

We will reopen on Thursday May 28th 11-3pm for the last week to see our current exhibition "Catching May" featuring the art of Materia Prima, Yashira Quinones and Kristal Eve 🌷The exhibition will be on view through May 30th.

Then we will be having submissions and preparing for our Summer Members' Show opening First Friday June 5th - June 27th.
There will be a preview of the exhibition and mixer for Afa members and anyone interested in learning more about Afa on Thursday June 4th from 6-8pm.

2026 Summer Members' Show 🌊

📢Call to Artists! 📢

We are now accepting submissions for our annual Summer Members' Show! We want to see what you have been creating! All members are encouraged to submit up to 3 works.

The opening reception will be for First Friday June 5th from 5-9pm and the show runs through June 27th.

There will be a Preview and Membership Mixer on Thursday June 4th from 6-8pm. Exhibit preview is open to members and non-members.

🕖 7pm – 9pm
📍 Afa Gallery
💰 $10 members | $20 non-members

Spots are limited and you can pre-register at artistsforart.org/events and save your seat! You can also purchase a spot at the door. We accept cash or card. We provide tables, chairs, and easels but we ask that you please bring your own drawing materials.

Have you ever drawn from a live model before? There's no better place to start than at Afa's monthly life drawing sessions!!

Join us at Afa Gallery for our May Life Drawing session in a relaxed, supportive space where beginners and seasoned artists alike can loosen up, build confidence, and just experiment!!

📅 Tuesday, May 19th
🕖 7pm – 9pm
📍 Afa Gallery
💰 $10 members | $20 non-members

All skill levels welcome! Seriously, all of them!! We love to see all types of artists evolve with their practice!! Under 18 requires parental permission and/or supervision.

This is a two hour self-guided session with a moderator and live model. The session may be n**e or clothed at the model's discretion and comfort level. Tables, chairs, and easels are provided but we ask that you bring your own materials 🎨

Our model for this month's session will be Logan and this is the first session Logan has ever done at Afa Gallery!

A little recap with some photos from our First Friday opening reception for our current exhibition
"Catching May" Featuring the art of Materia Prima, Yashira Quinones and Kristal Eve.

We had an amazing night with a delicious gluten free, vegan pop up menu by Maximum Zen Bakery 🥐🧁 and live dj set and vusuals by Materia Prima!

Thank you to everyone who attended and for supporting Afa!! A special thank you to walking tour group from the Greenhouse Project!!

Catching May brings together three distinct artistic voices united by a shared attentiveness to the natural world and the quiet rhythms of seasonal change. The exhibition features bead work, painting and mixed-media art, reflecting each artist’s unique approach to exploring themes of nature, texture, and the vibrance of emotions. Together, their works create a layered visual conversation between color and texture, the observed and the felt.
The title of of the exhibition takes it's name from the ancient traditions of "Catching May" which involve going out to collect wildflowers in baskets to create floral crowns and bouquets 💐
