Opening Thursday: Reasoning With Demons by Jai Sallay-Carrington

Reasoning With Demons by Jai Sallay-Carrington invites viewers to explore internal struggles and the complexities of identity. Through anthropomorphic ceramic sculptures, Jai brings to life the silent battles many LGBTQIA2S+ individuals face, transforming inner fears and societal pressures into a visceral, visual experience. Wolves, symbolizing self-doubt and anxiety, encircle a human figure poised on a bed of salt—a metaphor for purification and the courage to confront these inner demons.

This exhibition emphasizes the unseen layers of gender, identity, and belonging, inviting viewers to reflect on the invisible struggles that shape us all. By bearing witness to these moments, we are reminded of the importance of empathy and the power of art to foster connection and understanding. Reasoning With Demons celebrates the resilience of those who defy societal norms and seek self-acceptance.
