Photos cannot capture the incredible flavors, uplifting community, and cozy vibe of ’s Indian cooking classes. (But we’re sharing them here anyway!) We’ve recently learned how to temper spices, make four different kinds of daal, roll and fill and fry parathas, and make Indian street food. And how to let go and make these Indian dishes with our own signature tastes.
Shirin’s next class? Paneer! Join us Saturday, June 20, 5-8pm for a warm, relaxed evening of cooking and community centered around paneer—India’s beloved fresh cheese! In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to use Indian spices and fresh ingredients to make two flavorful paneer dishes from scratch: Palak Paneer (spinach-based) and Matar Paneer (tomato and green peas). We’ll round out the meal with Zeera Rice, aromatic rice with toasted cumin, and Raita, a yogurt-based side that cools and balances the spices. (All dishes are vegetarian and beginner-friendly.)
Shirin lives in the Squirrelly neighborhood and is an amazing cook, mother, and friend. She believes that the best meals, whether delicious paneer dishes or comforting daals, do more than feed people — they help us connect, create, and celebrate.
Raised between cultures, flavors and vibrant spices, Shirin brings people together through joyful, hands-on cooking experiences full of approachable techniques, delicious flavors, and connection. You’ll go home equipped and inspired to start cooking Indian food in your own kitchen!
