Since its founding in 1999, James Harris Gallery has mounted and curated hundreds of exhibitions for some of the best contemporary artists working in painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, video and installation today. ’s work in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, Haggerty Museum of Art, Santa Barbara Museum of Art, San Francisco Museum of Art, the Contemporary Museum of Honolulu, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and regionally at the Seattle, Tacoma, Boise and Portland Art Museums as well. Our ongoing policy is to develop emerging artists’ careers, showcase mid-career artists, and curate thematic group exhibitions which emphasize an art historical dialogue.

Amir Zaki “Recent Work 2018-2023”
January 6 to February 17, 2024

We are pleased to announce our seventh exhibition of Los Angeles photographer Amir Zaki. This will be his first solo show at our new gallery in Dallas. The show is comprised of images of signs, trees and skateboard parks. Together these works open a discussion of the history and future of photography but also the duplicitous version of truth in the modern world.

“Moment Momentum” our inaugural show opens tomorrow October 21, 4-6pm. The exhibition features the work of Squeak Carnwath, Viola Frey, Gary Hill, Fay Jones, Cameron Martin, Evan Nesbit, Richard Rezac, Akio Takamori, Bing Wright, and Amir Zaki.

The gallery has worked with these artists for many years. We are thrilled to show them in Dallas.
