An urn that I made some time ago using my slab scraps that I only recently got around to photographing. (I’m the worst. 🙈) The freedom of making things from my scraps is so fun!

Seeking New Potter/Ceramic Sculptor! We have a space opening up in February.
Clayworks, located in North Queen Anne just south of the Fremont Bridge, is seeking a 6th potter/ceramic sculptor. Share our light (huge windows), beautiful, heated, 1600 sqft workspace; complete with three electric kilns, slab rollers, wedging table, air-brushing booth, glaze area, mini-photographing area, dining area with couch, and bathroom. You'll have your private workspace and can spill-out into the common space as needed.
The rent is $335/month plus a 1/8th of our utilities and insurance, we usually end up paying around $370+ total per month. There is also a $700 deposit required. $250 of the deposit is non-refundable, and $450 that is refundable that represents a 1/8th ownership in the two large kilns that is refundable upon exiting studio when you are replaced.
Join us and participate in occasional shows and sales, great friendships, and learning possibilities. Interviews will be conducted promptly and the space is available on February 1st. This is a mellow work space, only for artists that work in clay. It's not a live/work. We have ample free all-day parking and a bike rack.
We're a 4 minute walk from tons of restaurants, cafes, PCC and potential customers, too!
Please send a message to us by January 2nd with a short description of your clay experience. Describe your interest in using the space (as hobbyist or a full time production worker, etc.), areas that you might want to explore, etc. and any other info you might want to share with us. We are open to all levels and experience!
We would love to see some examples (snapshots, photos, Instagram, or Etsy links etc.) of your work, too!
We will consider all applicants to help find the right fit for our small clay family. So
please apply regardless of your previous experience.
