This is a story about a shark, we've lovingly named her sharkie. See sharkie at office hours? She's color coding her calendar and enjoying a new banana bread latte from . See sharkie at art walk? She's sipping on some sauv blanc pours from (we did ID her, promise) and loving .wu.art's work.

See sharkie with billie? She's keeping her company while she tries on vintage and waits for her person - you see, this is a story of a shark. Sharkie. Last Friday she came in with her person and wandered off and has been keeping us company since!

Meet Amanda! Our host for our 3/5 Office Hours --

"Amanda Yates Rodgers is a museum professional and multimedia artist with a focus in printmaking. Amanda has been printmaking since 2016, and began focusing on linoleum block printing in 2020. Her work typically revolves around themes of seasonality, ephemerality, and materiality. Her printmaking practice at times also includes making paper. With a dedication to access and community, Amanda has also found a creative outlet in her pedagogically-focused museum work, where she designs and coordinates makerspace programming.

During my Office Hours I will be working on carving a new, larger linoleum block :)"

More about this regular Thursday event at Friend Museum:

Parallel play. Co-working. Office hours. We're entering fall side-by-side this year, ready to pull up a seat beside you.

Every Thursday this fall / winter we'll hold an open, drop-in, low pressure space to gather in our space. From 10-2 there will be someone at the table next to our in house coffee shop -- working, creating, reading or just being in community. The invite is always open, we'll always pull up a chair for you.

Bring your work, art in progress, book or just yourself and find a moment or two of camaraderie as daylight fades. Stay as long as you'd like, we're open 9-5 everyday. $1 off at the cafe for anyone who joins.

In the coming weeks we'll introduce the anchors who will sit at the table with you and let you know a bit about what they're working on while they spend Thursday with us.

Want to be the lighthouse at the head of our table sometime this fall? Send us an email ([email protected]) we'd love to have you

Meet Erica! Our host for our 2/26 Office Hours --

"Erica Carraway is a Seattle-based founder, strategist, and community builder with over 15 years of entrepreneurial experience, working at the intersection of wellness, culture, and experience. She is the creator of ALT, an adaptogenic coffee alternative rooted in ritual and sustainability, and the founder of SHIFT Marketing, where she supports brands through strategic growth and experiential storytelling. Erica’s work centers presence over productivity—creating spaces where people can slow down, connect, and feel held.

During my Office Hours, I’ll be working quietly—reading, light writing, and creative planning—holding an open, calm presence. Anyone is welcome to sit nearby to work, rest, read, or simply enjoy being in shared company. No agenda, just space.

Since Friend Museum also serves ALT, I’ll gently invite guests to share a cup of our partnered offering ooo honey chiildor try a new ALT latte that I’ll be softly introducing during Office Hours.
I’ve also attached the completed flyer for context.
Thank you again for including me — I really love the spirit of this series.

Warmly,
Erica"

This February 21 from 11am-close, step inside the Historic District and experience Pioneer Square’s vibrant art scene through a neighborhood-wide winter gallery scavenger hunt!

Visit the participating galleries, follow the clues, and discover the artists behind featured works. Each gallery is assigned a clue that corresponds to the numbered gallery map. Participants must visit the correct gallery, locate the artwork referenced in the clue, and write down the name of the artist who created that piece.

Meet Bimini (& Kat)! Our host for our 2/19 Office Hours --

"Meet Bimini! Four years old and full of s***k, this diva always brings the drama!! She's snorty, silly, sassy, and the biggest luver girl you'll ever meet. In her free time, Bimini loves to make new human-friends, chase resident shop-dog, Billie, through the racks of Friend Museum, and spend as much time with her mom, Kat, as she possibly can (she's a mama's girl through and through). At office hours, Bimini will be working with Billie to get as many treats and as much attention as possible. Between their puppy dog eyed schemes, Bimini will be helping her mom plan fundraising events for Camp Ten Trees - a local summer camp that creates a life-changing outdoor space for q***r young people to share in community together. Which is perfect, because Bimini loves all things CAMP! We'll see you soon!"
