Northwest Seaport

Northwest Seaport Northwest Seaport shares the history and heritage of three nationally significant museum vessels.

Northwest Seaport is a maritime heritage organization preserving the historic vessels, ARTHUR FOSS (1889), Lightship No. 83, "SWIFTSURE" (1904) and TORDENSKJOLD (1911). These provide a platform for our public programs, including public and school tours, job skills training, event rentals and restoration workshops.

2025 Maritime Heritage Hero

Celebrate this Sunday, December 21st, 2-4 aboard the Virginia V.

Northwest Seaport is pleased to announce Roger Ottenbach as our 2025 Maritime Heritage Hero Award winner! The award will be presented on December 21, 2025 onboard the Steamer Virginia V. The award celebration will run form 2:00 to 4:00. hors d'oeuvres, desserts and beverages will be available.

Roger has a long history in the maritime heritage community including years of service on the board of Puget Sound Maritime with a stint as President from 2010-2012. Roger has worked hard to engage youth in support of maritime workforce development efforts and runs a nautical antiques business in Port Orchard.

Please join us as we honor Roger and celebrate all of NW Seaports volunteers and programs to close out 2025 and get ready for a full year of activities in 2026. RSVP via

Under his leadership, the organization will continue strengthening partnerships across the maritime community, expanding programming for youth and families, creating job skill development opportunities, and advancing preservation efforts for its historic ships.
