(Weekend hours return with our summer schedule on May 1st.) Admission for self-guided outside-only tours is $2 for Adults, $1 Children 5-11. Children under 4 and Museum Members are free.Special event pricing varies; see event page or website for details. In October, we become a family-friendly Haunted Village for three weekends. Holly Days in December is another winter-time family-fun event. Watch

Step into the past this summer at Heritage Village Museum's Summer Camps! Our immersive, hands-on programs give children and teens the opportunity to explore history, spark creativity, and make lasting memories through engaging activities and adventures. Today we are highlighting Junior Docent Training Camp!

🏛️ Junior Docent Training Camp
August 3–7, 2026 | Ages 12–16
Go behind the scenes of the Village’s 13 historic buildings and experience history from the inside out! Designed for ages 12–16, Junior Docent Camp offers a unique chance to explore the inner workings of a living history museum and learn what it takes to preserve and present the past. Throughout the week, campers will take part in hands-on museum work—interpreting history for modern audiences, caring for artifacts, and developing public speaking and storytelling skills. The week culminates in Little Village in the Big Woods, where junior docents will demonstrate what they’ve learned by leading interactive experiences for guests, showcasing their knowledge, and bringing history to life!

Extended Care: Available from 8:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. for an additional fee

📚 Timeless Tales Camp
July 27–31, 2026 | Ages 6–12
Inspired by authors like Wilder, Stevenson, Dickens, and Austen, campers will step into the pages of classic literature and bring beloved stories to life. Whether it’s practicing proper tea etiquette, farming, or writing with a quill, each day offers immersive experiences drawn from the worlds of these beloved authors. From the drawing rooms of Austen’s England to the prairies of Wilder’s frontier, campers will deepen their love of reading while developing creative and critical thinking skills. It’s the perfect camp for young book lovers ready to bring the past to life!

🛠️ Past Professions Camp
July 20–24, 2026 | Ages 6–12
Campers will travel back to the 1800s to explore the exciting world of 19th-century professions. Campers will roll up their sleeves and try their hand at historical music, weaving, farming, teaching in a one room schoolhouse, printing, and even blacksmithing! Through games, crafts, and storytelling, campers will not only learn about these important roles but also gain a deeper appreciation for teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving. From making butter to crafting tin ornaments, every day brings a new adventure into the past!

Stop by Heritage Village Museum for a guided or self-guided tour and pickup an MHS Passport booklet to start your summer history adventure! Explore new museums and historic sites and collect a sticker at each one!

We have just launched the MHS Passport Program! Start your journey by picking up your passport booklet at your first participating location. Then, as you visit each new site, collect a unique sticker to track your adventures!

Be sure to check each organization’s website for hours, special events, and programs as you plan your visits. Organizations include: Behringer-Crawford Museum, The Betts House, Butler County Historical Society, Christian Waldschmidt Homestead, Cincinnati Type & Print Museum, Clinton County History Center, The Grail in the United States, Greater Milford Area Historical Society, Hamilton County (Ohio) Genealogical Society, Harriet Beecher Stowe House, Heritage Village Museum, Loveland Museum Center, Norwood Historical Society, and White Water Shaker Village.

Many participating sites are also part of the Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library’s Discovery Pass Program, meaning library cardholders can reserve passes for free museum visits.
