Step into the past this summer at Heritage Village Museum's Summer Camps! Our immersive, hands-on programs give children and teens the opportunity to explore history, spark creativity, and make lasting memories through engaging activities and adventures. Today we are highlighting Junior Docent Training Camp!
🏛️ Junior Docent Training Camp
August 3–7, 2026 | Ages 12–16
Go behind the scenes of the Village’s 13 historic buildings and experience history from the inside out! Designed for ages 12–16, Junior Docent Camp offers a unique chance to explore the inner workings of a living history museum and learn what it takes to preserve and present the past. Throughout the week, campers will take part in hands-on museum work—interpreting history for modern audiences, caring for artifacts, and developing public speaking and storytelling skills. The week culminates in Little Village in the Big Woods, where junior docents will demonstrate what they’ve learned by leading interactive experiences for guests, showcasing their knowledge, and bringing history to life!
