Did You Know that we have an interactive display where you can learn the history of the Buffalo Soldiers, who were United State Army regiments composed exclusively of Black American soldiers. Formed during the 19th century, they served on the American Frontier, fought in the Indian Wars, protected settlers, built infrastructure, and later served in major U.S. conflicts through World War II.

Did You Know that we have a Creek Fire Resiliency exhibit at the museum?

Look through the one-of-a-kind photo book put together by the Shaver lake Fire Department and see through the eyes of the firefighters and first responders who worked on the fire, flip through a copy of The Creek fire Storytelling Project (also available in our gift shop) and read the stories from residents who lived through the burn, and learn more about how we can continue to protect our forests going forward.
