Join us for this weekly gathering! Tell us about your family treasures, browse our archives, chat about our shared heritage while enjoying coffee and snacks. It's a great way to see old friends, meet new people, and learn more about our community's history. You never know who'll turn up at the museum on a Saturday morning!

Our computer files have been updated to make them more accessible to the members of our community! Stop by our library/research room and we'll help you look up your family and community history.

1. WW I doughboy helmet.

2. .45 Caliber Model 1911 pistol w/ magazine.

3. WW I M1917 Enfield rifle w/ ammo clip, bayonet and sheath.

4. WW I canteen with cup and cover.

Southwest Virginia played a pivotal role in the American Revolution, beginning with the Fincastle Resolutions. In 1775 — more than a year before the Declaration of Independence — local leaders from what was then Fincastle County boldly signed the document that echoed the same fearless desire for political liberty that would soon ignite a nation.

“Resolved to Live and Die” is coproduced by the Wilderness Road Regional Museum, which will be presenting the film on May 18.

Southwest Virginia played a pivotal role in the American Revolution. Watch this PBS documentary at the Meadowbrook Library.

Stop by any Saturday morning from 10 to noon to purchase a copy, or email us at [email protected] and we will hold one for you. We have both unframed ($20) and framed ($40) maps available.
