🇺🇸 This June, join us for a special month-long Guest Lecture Series celebrating American history, culture, and the stories that shaped our nation. Every Saturday, the museum will host distinguished speakers and reinactors for a lecture designed to bring history to life for our community. 📜

This year’s featured speakers include Dave and Roxanne McFarland of the Montgomery County Museum, Professor Ted Goudge of Northwest Missouri State University, local Allan Jordan, and Matthew Volker. Each lecture will offer a unique perspective on American history, culture, and heritage.

Throughout the series, guests will also be able to enjoy live musical performances 🎶 and refreshments from local vendor Wicked Sips 🍋

This unique series offers an opportunity to experience history through storytelling, music, and community. We look forward to welcoming visitors of all ages as we explore the people, places, and events that continue to shape the American experience.

📅 We are incredibly excited to bring this special program to our community and look forward to sharing more details about each lecture in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for individual event announcements, dates, and times!

A huge thank you to the Shenandoah kindergarten class for visiting us last Wednesday during their “Then and Now” unit! 🏫✨ We had such a wonderful time showing the students how everyday tasks used to be done in the past.

The kids had a blast beating rugs with a real rug be**er, writing with feather quills ✒️, and exploring history through hands-on activities 🕰️📚. Seeing their excitement, curiosity, and laughter made the day so special for all of us! 😊

We also want to give a very special thank you to all of our amazing volunteers and the teachers that made this possible! ❤️👏 We truly could not have done this event without your time, energy, and help. Thank you for helping us make history come alive for the next generation! 🏛️

🎅✨ Santa is coming back and he’s bringing Mrs. Claus! ✨🤶

Join us tomorrow from 12pm –2pm for an afternoon full of holiday magic, cozy vibes, and enough cheer to melt even the grumpiest Scrooge. Trust us… YULE not want to miss this.

🎄 Santa and Mrs. Claus will be here for visits, smiles, and all the Christmas joy your heart can handle. Whether you need photos, holiday wishes, or just proof that Santa is real; this is your moment.

🧶 And here’s where it gets extra special:
Dixie will be here knitting mittens live and she gives her handmade mittens to kids for FREE. No catch. Just warmth, kindness, and a whole lot of heart. Honestly, if that doesn’t make you feel festive, we don’t know what will.

🎟️ Dixie has also generously donated TWO handmade blankets and a scarf to raffle off and tickets are only $1. That’s right: one dollar could turn into the coziest winter upgrade of your life. Worth it? Absolutely.

❄️ Bad weather? Perfect.

🎄 Holiday stress? This fixes it.

☕ Need an excuse to get out of the house? We’ve got you covered.

Come celebrate the season with us; laughter, generosity, handmade warmth, and Santa himself.

We’ll save you a spot ❤️

🎅✨ SANTA IS VISITING THE MUSEUM TODAY! ✨🎅

We are kicking off the holiday season in the best way possible! With a visit from Santa Claus himself!

Stop by the museum today from 12–2 PM (Saturday, December 6th) to meet Santa, take photos, and enjoy a warm and festive afternoon surrounded by holiday cheer.

And that’s not all…
Santa will be returning to the museum EVERY SATURDAY until Christmas, so make us part of your family’s holiday tradition this year! 🎄🎁

⭐ SPECIAL FEATURE TODAY!

We are thrilled to welcome the incredibly talented Dixie Dailey, who will be knitting live in the gallery during Santa’s visit. Dixie has been such a blessing to our community for years. Every season, she hand-knits hats, mittens, scarves, and other warm winter items and donates them so that local children in need can stay warm through the winter.

Her display of colorful handmade items is already brightening the museum, and watching her work in person is a treat you won’t want to miss. Dixie’s dedication, generosity, and talent make her an important part of our museum family, and we are excited to celebrate her today. 🧶❤️

Let the magic of the holidays begin. See you at the museum!
