An exquisite pair of oversized polished black slate urns that were converted into lamps during the first half of the 20th century. The handles are beautifully fluted with a cross-hatched chiseling within the flutes and a high-polish where raised while acanthus foliage wraps over the curved handles and grape leaves flow outward from the handle joint with the body of the urn. An extraordinary presentation - bold, exquisite. Available in the gallery!

This very fine pair of Louis XV carved beechwood fauteuils were executed by Louis Cresson, each stamped L. CRESSON on the back seat rail, a stamp that unusually remains visible for clients instead of being hidden under the frame. Louis and his brother Michel both stamped their unpainted and ungilded chairs like this with some frequency. These have been recovered in brown leather, the covering now quite old and worn but stunningly beautiful. Circa 1750. Available now!

An incredibly beautiful representation of Diana the Huntress, this rather rare cast by Eugéne Marioton captures the goddess as a young woman with her bow resting gingerly against her upraised hand while she leans against the stump of a felled tree. Her other arm rests on the upper limits of the tree, cast outwards in an almost carefree manner that leaves her body in a dance-like posture. She looks only to her bow, her eyes turned downwards and her features incredibly peaceful. Available in the gallery!

One of our favorite contemporary chairs, the “Athens Lounge Chair” is a contemporary reinterpretation of the classical klismos form, pushing its elegant contours to their structural and aesthetic extremes. It is a study in material interplay and timeless refinement, a perfect demonstration how an ancient archetype can evolve into a distinctly contemporary statement piece. The chair is designed by Thomas Pheasant for Baker Furniture. Available in the gallery!

We just brought in this bust of Comtesse D’Artois and the matching bust of Comte D’Artois, both captured as young children and opposing one another. They were executed in patinated terracotta by the Parisian sculptor Fernand Cianciani during the early 20th century. Stunning. Available in the gallery now.

We recently acquired two terracotta busts by the Parisian sculptor Fernand Cianciani. This is a depiction of Compte d’Artois, who would later become Charles X, King of France. Note the incredible texture, numerous fingerprints left in the terracotta and a rich patina. Available now!

We have carried examples of the Grand Tour “Narcissus” (later identified as Dionysius) many times and it is always a model of great interest. It is becoming more and more difficult to find great casts, examples with surfaces that are highly compelling and cause you to stop for a moment. This is one such example just in at the gallery - note the fabulous texture of the surface with its heavily built-up patina and absolute chaos. We also just acquired another cast that will be cataloged shortly with an entirely different feeling to the surface so keep an eye out for that. This cast is available in the gallery now!

This very fun little Meiji period bronze rooster is so alert and takes himself so seriously. Exquisite casting quality throughout. He stands on one foot, the other drawn in allowing the sculpture to balance on his wings and single foot. Available in the gallery now!
