While we celebrate the coming of and new birth, let's not forget that rabbits have absolutely nothing on the baby-making power of insects.
Like the live, clone births of aphids.

Yes. Many aphid species can clone themselves, give live birth to those clones without laying eggs, and THOSE CLONES ARE BORN CLONE-PREGNANT. Using this method, in theory, an aphid population can even dectuple (that's 10 times!!) Within basically a single DAY. Even the fastest-breeding rabbits have a gestation period of about a month, and give birth to litters of 5 on average.

So when we think of Spring, let's remember to give baby-making credit where it's due: insects!
