This is a detail from one of the maps that Ken Burns had custom-made for "The American Revolution" documentary.
- Moretown (at the upper right) is now the town of Bradford VT, the Orange County town along the Connecticut River where Loyalist John Peters was from.
As we go clockwise after Moretown:

- Bennington was ground zero for the Green Mountain Boys in the 1770s.
-Saratoga is shown on this map where the village of Schuylerville is found today. The 1777 battlefield is in Stillwater.
- Dorset's Cephas Kent tavern hosted the July 26, 1776 "Dorset Convention."
- Skenesboro (now Whitehall NY) was a land grant, to a British officer Philip Skene, which was captured by 30 Green Mtn. Boys on May 9, 1775.
- east Hubbardton is the site of the only Revolutionary War battle fought on Vermont soil (July 7, 1777).
- Ticonderoga on Lake Champlain was captured from the British by New England patriots, led by Col. Ethan Allen, on May 10, 1775.

Change of plans on September’s meeting. We will meet at the Stone Schoolhouse on Rte 22A. Everyone is invited:
After the business meeting, those who are interested and able will drive to the Callender and All Saints Cemeteries both located on Lapham Bay Road, Shoreham.

Getting to the Callender cemetery is kind of rough going. Jim Rowe has done a great job of cleaning up. Still there are woodchuck holes, uneven ground, toxic plants such as poison ivy and poison parsnips to navigate. Long pants, socks, and sturdy shoes are recommended.
