Just a reminder folks! This auction will end soon! Better pictures on our website at www.shoshonemuseum.org Help the Shoshone Museum in our mission to preserve the history of the Amargosa Basin — and survive the summer! — and get your very own piece of mining history!
We are excited to announce our very first fundraiser auction! Thanks to a generous donation from a museum member, we are able to offer this historic ore cart to the highest bidder.
Although we don’t know the exact provenance, we know it isn’t from one of our local mines – it came to us from out of state. But it’s safe to say it worked a mine and put in the time! It is definitely not in pristine condition; we like to think it’s full of charm and character, with a lovely patina and rust holes that bear testament to its long life of hard work – we estimate it to be 75 to 100 years old. Ore cart specifications and photos below!
Special thanks to Stephen Mulqueen for the donation, and Fred Johnson for delivering the ore cart to us!
