Shreveport Water Works Museum Shreveport Water Works Museum (at the McNeill Street Pumping Station) The facility is available for events on a rental basis, regular daily admission is free.

The Shreveport Water Works Museum tells the story of Shreveport's early efforts to create a source of clean water for the city. It houses what is believed to be the oldest intact collection of Victorian era waterworks equipment, offering a fascinating look into the past, into industrial equipment and engineering and the importance of clean water. Originally called the McNeill Street Pumping Statio

n (because it was formerly accessed via McNeill Street) , it is designated a "National Historic Landmark." The McNeill Street Pumping Station Preservation Society (MSPSPS), established in 1999, serves as the "friends" organization for the museum and is currently funding, managing and running the facility.
