The first Skateboarding Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony was held in 2009 to honor the passion, dedication, contribution and accomplishments of Professional Skateboarders, Photographers, Musicians, Artists and others throughout the decades. IASC members, historians, pros, editors, and the industry vote and gather to recognize those who have made an indelible imprint on the history of skateboarding.

We encourage visitors and hours change occasionally so be sure to call ahead or check our website for current information.

Hands down Surf N Wears Beach House in Santa Barbara, CA is one of the best and most beautiful retail stores on the planet. When I was a teenager I used to deliver surf wax to Roger’s original location so today was like a full circle moment. To be invited into Rogers office was so special and I was even able to purchase a few gems from his personal collection. Thanks to my friend Kim Robinson who I’ve know for 40 years for setting it up and for letting go of a few classics himself. Kim used to work for Powell Peralta and it was really cool to reconnect with both Roger & Kim. I consider these Gents among the coolest elder statesman of the surf and skate culture all of us live and breathe.

Finally able to get back to my local swap the and I was lucky to find a unique 1970’s wood slalom board with 1st generation and OG Gyro hub wheels for $60 as well and a rising sun sign I’ve never seen before. Swipe to see my old friend the “Golden Maharajah” skate which I been trying to buy for 2 years as well as my negotiation for the $20 Hosoi sign.

Here’s an old clip I found of me skating down a hill in my home town in about 1976. I was 12. When I found it I thought I was pushing mongo. Then my friend pointed out that I skate regular and my stance here is goofy so he’s saying I’m not pushing mongo I’m just skating switch. What do you think? Maybe I was skating switch before Salman? lol

I went to another really cool ring presentation with at the A few hundred people showed up to witness .barbee & Matt Hensley get their beautiful SHoF rings handcrafted by Carlos Big thanks to and crew for making it all such a success. And to all the fans. Once again I witnessed how amazing the Skateboard community is. It was to double team the MC duties with because I really like him. 🤓

In honor of being inducted into the SHoF we dug deep into our archive to share this never before seen footage and short interview all filmed back in 1994 by my Brother Chris. The vert ramp was at the ASR trade show and somehow my Bro was able to get onto the deck of the ramp to get these amazing clips. Congrats Omar we hope,you like this footage. Thanks to my brother for finding this over 30 years later.
