Sioux City Railroad Museum National Register of Historic Places Originally known as the Milwaukee Railroad Shops, the Railroad Museum is located along Highway 12 in Sioux City, Iowa.

Located at the former Milwaukee Railroad Shops, the once large and industrious complex has been uniquely transformed into a museum with more than 100 years of rich history and tells on-going and ever evolving story. The 30 acre museum site is nestled in between the scenic Loess Hills and the Big Sioux River. This historical treasure was built in 1917 and was once a large industrial complex that serviced and repaired locomotives and railcars for 65 years. Only a handful these places still exist in the United States, and after several years of preserving and restoring what has remained, the museum is able to showcase rare artifacts and architecture that represent an important and influential time in our nation’s history. Combined with the historical atmosphere, The Railroad Museum creates a unique environment for friends and families to learn and enjoy. We are building tracks for the future!

Thank you all again for amazing Halloween event weekend, and hope to keep the good times rolling down the tracks as we prepare for our Veterans Day and Christmas festivities!

In the midst of these preparations, we wanted to kindly remind and ask those willing to please consider signing up for our membership program if you have not done so already.

Got a trunk? We’ve got a spot for you!

We’re looking for trunks for Trunk or Treat at the Sioux City Railroad Museum on October 17 & 18! Starting at 12:30 PM each day until the treats run out.

Spots are FREE! Bring your family, represent your business, or get your car club together. Decorate your trunk, bring candy to hand out, and help us give the kiddos a fun Halloween!

Have a business you’d like to get in front of local families? This is a great opportunity for some free advertising while joining in on the fun.

Get those costumes ready, Siouxland! And yes, the dog needs one too.

Fall-O-Ween at the Roundhouse is happening October 17 & 18 at the Sioux City Railroad Museum, and we’ve got a whole weekend of spooky fun planned!

10 AM to 4 PM both days
Admission is a free will donation supporting the museum.

Indoor and outdoor vendors
Concessions
Activities
Trunk-or-Treat BOTH days starting at 12:30 PM until supplies run out!

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17
11 AM: Miss Paranormal Pinup Contest
Registration is required. Contact Para911SCIA on Facebook or email [email protected] to sign up.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18
10 AM: Halloween Dog Costume Contest
Bring your dressed-up fur babies! Dogs must be leashed and friendly with people and other dogs. Please clean up after them.

11 AM: Halloween Costume Contest
All ages are welcome, with individuals, couples and families invited to join in!

We’re also welcoming vendors! Outdoor spaces are available for $50, which includes BOTH days. Contact Mystic Market Siouxland on Facebook for vendor booths!

Grab the kids, call your friends, put on something spooky and come spend the weekend with us!
