Well, friends… we owe you a tiny apology.

Makin’ it Local will be CLOSED Saturday & Sunday, May 30 / 31 — and we’re sorry if we missed you this weekend! Not all is lost, as you can stop by today until 5:30 pm!

We’re heading over the hill to pick up and deliver art, hunt for some new treasures for the gallery, and (because we can’t help ourselves) swing by the NW Marine Art Studio Show in Portland in search of more Seriously Great Art for Sisters.

The good news? We’ll be back Monday, June 1st at 10 AM, refreshed, inspired, and hopefully bringing back some wonderful Oregon art stories to share.

Thank you — truly — for supporting our little local business. Every visit, kind word, gift purchase, and art conversation means more than you know. We appreciate your support of local artists and of what we’re building here in Sisters.

✈️ Off to San Francisco today (Tuesday, May 19th) — back tonight!

Just a quick heads up: Makin’ it Local will reopen Wednesday at NOON.

We love the SFO airport… except for those way too common delays.

…but with better snacks and fewer scraped knees.

Makin’ it Local is throwing it back to the glory days of sidewalk masterpieces and dusty hands with our Third Annual “Chalk It” Event on May 23, 2026—and you’re invited to unleash your inner sidewalk, Picasso.

Grab a chunk of chalk (we’ve got you covered… literally, thanks to our patio) and go wild on our covered and open-air space. Sun? Great. Clouds? Moody. Rain? We call that “mixed media.”

Create your masterpiece, then toss your name in the hat for a chance at fame, glory, and some pretty sweet prizes. (Worldwide recognition not guaranteed, but heavy bragging rights absolutely are.)

No experience required. Stick figures welcome. Overachievers encouraged.

Chalk provided by us, or bring your own secret weapon if you’re feeling competitive.
