The Barrow Gallery is a historic art museum located in the Finger Lakes in the village of Skaneateles, NY. It is devoted exclusively to the work of 19th century artist and Skaneateles citizen John D. Barrow designed and built the gallery in 1900 to share his life’s work. Upon his death in 1906, Barrow gifted the gallery and his collection of more than 400 original oil paintings to the people of Sk
aneateles. Considered a second-generation Hudson River School artist, Barrow was skilled in both landscape and portraits. His paintings are a timeless ode to the natural world that inspire reflection, a sense of home, and respect for the environment. The gallery is open Wednesday through Sunday, 1-4pm (May through December, closed on major holidays). The gallery entrance is located on State St.
