Smithsonian Institute Hometown Teams- Greenville County: 9/12 - 10/25 Smithsonian Institute and SC Humanities Council bring the love of sports to Greenville County. Located in Slater Hall, just six miles north of Trav. Rest.

Hometown teams is part of Museum on Main Street, a collaboration between the Smithsonian Institute and the SC Humanities Council. Sponsored locally by the Slater Hall Citizens committee, Travelers Rest Historical Society and the Jolley Foundation, Hometown Teams highlights the fact that hometown sports are more than just games. They shape our lives, unite us and celebrate who we are as Americans.

From pick-up games to organized leagues, millions of Americans of all ages play sports. And if we're not playing them we're watching them. The Hometown Teams exhibit showcases our love for sports, both nationally and locally!
