🎉 Congratulations to our newest Battalion Chief, Amanda Hierl!
From answering her first 911 call as an EMT Basic to now stepping into the role of Battalion Chief, Amanda has spent over a decade giving everything to the people of Onslow County. She started right here with us, rose through the ranks from EMT to Paramedic to Captain, and never once stopped pushing to make this department stronger.
Amanda co created and leads our hugely successful EMS Cadet Program (36 cadets and counting!), turning high school dreams into real careers and building the future of Onslow EMS one class at a time. She’s coordinated more than 100 community events, mentored dozens of new providers, earned FTO of the Year, Paramedic of the Quarter, multiple Lifesaving Awards, and has been the calm, decisive voice in the toughest incidents and disaster responses.
Resilient. Accountable. Relentless about excellence. That’s Amanda Hierl.
This promotion isn’t just recognition of her incredible record; it’s proof that hard work, heart, and hometown pride still move the needle around here.

Description: Black and white tuxedo, green eyes, white paws, belly, chest, chin and whiskers. Black nose and paw pads. Small notch near the tip of her left ear. Last seen with purple collar (black and white on the inside).
