Hello Everyone,
This week, we received devastating news that our friend and fellow Nibble entrepreneur, Miguel Altamirano, passed away. Miguel and Balbina have been a part of the Somerville Cultural Community since the very early stages of the Somerville Arts Council's Nibble program. Their story is not just a story about our cultural culinary community, but one of love and friendship. So much in love, they were always together to support of each other in all of their endeavors. To say they were a team is an understatement. They had an unbreakable bond that was filled with love which was shared by many.
I remember fondly spending time with them one afternoon for Balbina's birthday. Balbina cooked up a feast. Now, you would think that my almost non-existent conversational Spanish would pose a challenge. On the contrary, the dinner was delightful. We laughed, shared stories, and ate wonderful dishes-- connected through food and friendship. That day will forever stay with me and I value their generous spirit. It does not matter how much you have, but how you share it and they shared a lot. Now, it is our time to give back. Please consider donating to help Balbina and her son recover during this difficult time. Every little counts and will be greatly appreciated. Thank you ❤
