Murphy helped pack up some of the materials for IRON PRINT 9 (Saturday Feb. 24 at MassArt print Studio)! He also helped get the trophy dusted off — so much help getting ready!

We’re back!! IRON PRINT 9 returns to the MassArt print studios on Saturday Feb. 24 with teams from MassArt, SMFA, BU, and RISD! I’ve gathered almost all of the supplies needed, and just got my Mystery Ingredients — 😂😂

This is a printmaking competition where each team has 5 hours to produce an edition of 10 using relief, intaglio, litho, screen or stencil AND the mystery ingredients; nothing can be made before 9am that Saturday!!! All printing must stop by 2:30 — then the judges are looking at quality of images, printing, teamwork and creativity!!!

Huge shout out to MassArt, Takach Press, the Boston Printmakers, and all of the wonderful volunteers that make this crazy event happen! Hoping to have video this year — we’ll see!!!!

It has come to my attention that many people are thinking that I have retired; NOT SO! As Murphy can attest: the shop is still going strong (rocking & rolling) and I am still teaching at MassArt; soon to also teach at New Impressions Print Studio!! AND — IRON PRINT 9 will happen on Saturday Feb 24!!! Stay tuned for more info!!!!!

Celebrating with my friend Asuka! Just finished my last day working/teaching at SMFA — it’s been 24 years and hundreds of students. Quite a few students, current and past, gave me lovely notes! Asuka was my first TA so many years ago, & is a fabulous artist!!! So glad to have this friendship and support —
