Join us for Blessing of the Bay: Three Voices, One Shore on Saturday, June 6, from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM at 32 Shore Drive.

This unique outdoor program brings together song, dance, storytelling, and family activities to honor the layered histories connected to Ten Hills and the Blessing of the Bay. Together, we’ll explore the stories of Indigenous peoples, European settlement, and Africans brought here through slavery — histories that are deeply intertwined on this shore.

Featuring performances by Morning Star Singers, De Ama Battle’s Art of Black Dance & Music Ensemble, Anna-Celestrya Carr, and storyteller Aimee Ledwell.

Free and family-friendly.

Come gather by the water, learn local history, and experience this powerful community program.

Join us for Kindness Rocks! Painting Stones & Indigenous Stories on Saturday, May 30, from 10:00 AM–12:00 PM.

Families are invited to paint stones with words, symbols, and designs inspired by kindness, community, and the stories connected to this place. We’ll also share Indigenous stories and reflect on how small acts of creativity can bring care and connection into the world around us.

Take your rock home or leave it somewhere for someone else to find as a little gift of encouragement.

This Memorial Day, the Somerville Museum remembers and honors the service members who gave their lives in service to our country.

As we reflect on their sacrifice, we also recognize the families, loved ones, and communities who carry their memories forward. May this day be one of gratitude, remembrance, and care.

We had a wonderful time at the Calvin Street Block Party!

The Somerville Museum was happy to be there with a table, local history materials, and our favorite neighborhood historian, Dan Breen. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat, share stories, look at old photos, and connect with Somerville’s history.

We even had a few furry visitors join the fun!
