Located in the heart of downtown South Bend, the South Bend Museum of Art offers a vibrant mix of contemporary and historical exhibitions, art classes for all ages, and community programs that celebrate creativity and culture. The museum's permanent collection is exhibited in the Carmichael Gallery, and includes a mix of styles and imagery by American artists from the 19th century to present day.

Five other galleries display changing exhibitions: traveling, solo and group exhibitions by professional artists as well as local artist groups and students. The SBMA hosts events on the first Fridays of each month ranging from artist receptions to social events like Meet Me on the Island that intermingle art and live music. Educational opportunities include a full range of instruction designed to meet the needs of all skill sets from youth to adult. Museum Morning and Sculpture Quest introduces area 5th graders to art and resources are made available to area educators. The SBMA maintains an active docent program of volunteers that lead educational tours through the galleries.

🎨 πŸ–ΌοΈ β˜€οΈ Summer creativity is in high demand at SBMA! Our Summer Camps are just about full up!

It's incredible to see so many young artists ready to explore and create with us. We'll be exploring hands-on projects in these camps which are designed to spark students' imaginations and build their confidence in creating art. These camps are 1 week long, and students will bring home at least 4 awesome projects that celebrate their favorite parts of summer.

Only a few spots are left. Don’t miss your chance to join us this summer!

Local South Bend artist and founder of Mural Mania Alex Ann Allen is making moves and she needs our support! 🎨

Alex is one of just 3 finalists selected for the opportunity to create a large-scale mural depicting the Indiana Fever at the Indiana Fever Sports Performance Center in Indianapolis. This is a huge moment for her career and for South Bend's creative community.

One of the deciding factors? A community survey. That's where we come in.

Here's how you can help:
1. Share this post. The more people who see it, the more votes Alex gets. Tag your friends, share to your stories, pass it along.
2. Take the survey linked in the comments below. It takes just a minute and it matters.

Alex plays a huge part in making the downtown South Bend you know and love beautiful. Let's show up strong for her.
