Join us for the opening reception of 𝘈 𝘚𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘰𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘎𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘯, our new summer exhibition at the Sarah Orne Jewett House on Thursday, July 10, 2025!

Presented in partnership with the Dover NH Arts Commission , this exhibition celebrates the beauty and creativity of coastal gardens—past and present.

A Seacoast Garden draws inspiration from the historic Hamilton House, another Historic New England property, and features the early twentieth-century photography and floral art of Elise Tyson, who captured the elegance of gardens along the Maine and New Hampshire seacoasts. Alongside Tyson’s work, local artists interpret today’s seacoast gardens through painting, photography, and mixed media.
