✨ How it’s made (and why people are surprised) ✨

Kris uses a technique called flamework (or lampwork)—a process that dates back to ancient times.

Using a torch, she melts glass around a steel mandrel to form each bead by hand.

No molds. No duplicates. Just heat, movement, and a bit of unpredictability.

People are often surprised to learn that she creates every bead herself… and that “playing with fire” is part of the process.

There’s also a bit of instinct involved—
Kris knows a bead is finished when the colors and shapes come together and it simply feels right.

It’s the kind of work you really appreciate when you see it up close.
