"Poppies in the Wind" just finished the 11x14 poppy painting that I started en plein air back in May! Created with brush and palette knife on location at my mother-in-law's best friend, Anna's Truax's home place. I pretty much left it as it was back in May, but I finish painting the edges today. "Running Free" #364. 16 x 20 acrylic on canvas. Inspired by a beautiful gray filly that I videotaped at a nearby farm two years ago. And my favorite farm that I can see from my studio window. I'm feeling greatly blessed because I have been struggling to focus...I have so many paintings that I've started but I keep loosing my inspiration to finish them. Thank you Jesus!... because every good thing comes from You! See more paintings at RhondaHager.com

"Fresh Daffodils" #347. 10 x 20 on 1.5 inch gallery wrapped canvas. This is a redo of a previous daffodil painting. I wanted to play with shades of gray against the various shades of yellow. I love the contrast between warm and cool and the playful brushstrokes that emphasize the fun of daffodils! Daffodils are just another reflection of God's beauty and amazing variety in His creation! "Morning Zinnia" #362. 8"x8" on 1.5" gallery wrapped canvas. I started growing my zinnias from seeds indoors in an egg carton this spring. I love the many intricate designs God has for zinnias. Some have tall cone centers and others have more flat centers with tiny little flowers in the centers. And they continue to transform throughout the week! I'm thinking about doing a 3' x 3' zinnia because I love them so much! See more original artwork at RhondaHager.com

"Sunlit Marina" #361. 36" x 36" on 1.5" Gallery wrapped canvas. Inspired by an amazing sunset God created over the Grand Lake St Marys that I photographed back in 2017. I started this painting about three months ago and just put the finishing touches on it today! Some close-up shots... if you look closely you might find 5 Blue Heron hanging out along the shoreline😉 More original paintings at RhondaHager.com

"Iris & Daisy Bouquet" 18 x 24 acrylic on canvas. Last year I didn't get to paint my tiny purple irises, so this year I was determined that I was going to capture them on canvas before they died. Yesterday I made a bouquet with a few of my other flowers and started painting. I worked on it into the evening. I liked it, but I didn't love it. So I prayed and asked God to give me wisdom to figure out a path forward with this painting. I believe God wants us to ask Him for wisdom no matter what we're doing. Today I add the daisies and started playing around with the background. I knew I was going to have to make the background darker so that the daisies would stand out. As I was working, I noticed that some of my lighter brushstrokes made it feel like the sun was streaming in from behind and lighting them up. I loved that effect! So I took off capturing that feeling of light! God gets all the glory because apart from Him I can do nothing! Thank you Jesus for empowering me to capture the beauty of Your creation!
