Today we were at the Spokane Valley Library to support the Picnic in the Park 250th celebration. The composite Navy Band from Silverdale Wa. came over to play some great music. Lots of SAR & DAR in period dress. Including Richard Roddy & Jan Hughes from Tri Cities. 200 people attended including lots if kids.

Recently added to the Flag Museum a gold star 48 star flag from WWII. This flag is an interment flag for a U.S. soldier that died in Normandy France in 1944. It was made by a company in France or Belgium. Only 500 were made before the VA stopped the process. France thought it would be a nice idea for the Gold Star program. Not.many of these flags survived. This was one that was placed in our box to be retired, annominously. Flag code says not to retire flags that can still be used. On display in the Flag museum.
