All of our Round One artists are going to town at the Spokane Art School Monster Drawing Rally! All works will be completed on site and made available to event guests for $50 each. All proceeds support children’s programs at the art school.

We had so much fun last night. This is the fabulous Joe Joseph Tomlinson drawing - performing - in the third round. I got to draw in the first round. Thanks to all the artists and volunteers. We were packed!

I'll be going over to the Moses Lake Art Museum tomorrow to meet with staff about preparing Ric Gendron's show for a November opening! There will also be Ric's prints and Ric's book "Rattlebone" for sale during the show.

We will be at the Garland Street Fair this Saturday from 10 to 6. Even though it may be hot outside, we will be in front of the Art School Gallery which is totally air-conditioned. There will be lots of great art to choose from - Ric Gendron paintings and prints (!), George Flett, Marianne Figgins watercolors, Sheila Evans.

This is a suite of acrylic paintings on paper, image size about 16" x 20" Ric painted these all in about a week several years ago and they have never been exhibited before. Inspired by Salish folklore, fairy tales, rock and roll and social commentary, these images all combine to have the effect of a children's illustrated book without words. While Ric was painting them, his grandchildren Dommy and Justice made up their own stories about each painting. Now framed, Salish Stories are on display from Feb 3 through March 31 at the Spokane Art SchoolGallery.
