Our recent talk held on April 22, with Violet Ackas and her daughter Christina Ackas was about their renovation of the property at Ringwood Manor. They spoke about their plans and their multi-year stabilization and rehabilitation project for a sustainable public use historical Museum and Cultural Center. We had a large group in attendance and was well received by all.

Years ago students in Mrs. Green's 4th grade class at Springfield Central School constructed small recreations of buildings in the Springfield Center area. Does anyone know what year this was done or which class was involved? Our historical society in Springfield Historical Society would like to credit those budding architechts (none of the buildings had names on them.)

Loree Allen and her sister, Cynthia Eastwood have joined the Springfield Historical Society and are assisting with cleaning Revolutionary War Veterans' cemetery stones. She is documenting each person's stone in detail. She has a DAR patriot, Peter Walrath in the Middle Village Cemetery and is using funds applied for by Nancy Einreinhofer from the Community Foundation of Otsego County for this purpose.
