Come Find Art is a FREE, all-ages day of creativity held on the second Sunday of every month at the Springfield Museum of Art.

This coming Sunday, September 13th, we are celebrating SMoA's exhibition Imprinting featuring the artwork of Charley Harper, Edie McKee Harper, and Brett Harper. We have a free printmaking activity inspired by the artwork on display.

We would like to welcome Behind the Curtain Dance Studio, who will be leading animal inspired movement activities in the galleries! We hope you come to move, view the galleries, and make some art yourself!

Youth Art Classes
Youth art classes return to the Springfield Museum of Art! A class will comprise of four
weekly sessions. Need-based scholarships are available.

View the serigraph prints of animals in the exhibition Imprinting | Charley Harper, Edie
McKee Harper, and Brett Harper, make an animal print in the open studio, and try a few
dance moves named after animals courtesy of special guests from Behind the Curtain
Dance Studio.

Art Chat | FREE
Art Chat is a welcoming space for artists to connect, share work, and learn from one
another. This session will focus on Sharing Your Work Online. Participate through open
conversation, informal critique and feedback, show-and-tell, or the option to observe.

Today, the Springfield Museum of Art announces that Executive Director Jessimi Jones will be leaving the Museum after more than six years of leadership to become the next Director & President of the Dayton Art Institute.

Since joining SMoA in 2020, Jessimi has worked alongside our staff, Board, artists, members, donors, and community to strengthen the Museum and imagine its future. During her tenure, SMoA transformed its original North Wing, welcomed significant growth in attendance and community use, and received statewide recognition for exhibitions, accessibility, and community engagement. At the heart of this work has been a belief that continues to guide us: Art Belongs to All People.

“Leading the Springfield Museum of Art has been one of the greatest privileges of my professional life. I am deeply grateful to our extraordinary team and to this community for believing in this Museum, and I am incredibly confident in everything still ahead for SMoA.” — Jessimi Jones

Join us for youth art classes inspired by art in the galleries and exploring a variety of art materials in the studio. Classes run over four sessions during the month for grades 1-3 and 4-6.
