We are excited to annouce our June featured artist: Colby Kern!

Join us on First Friday, May 5th from 6-10pm for the opening reception of "No Kept Line" by Colby Kern in our Main Gallery.

"I resist the expectation that my work needs to resolve into a single theme. Instead, it reflects an ongoing practice rooted in curiosity, instinct, and the simple act of painting.
I move from one approach to another without any obligation to stay consistent. What connects these works isn’t a shared narrative, but shared attention. One day I am locked into color, the next could be composition, gesture, and texture.
What happens if I push this mark further? What if I kill this color with black? What if I stop now?
What if nothing is resolved?
Some pieces feel deliberate and others impulsive. Together they’re a record of me showing up and figuring it to as I go.
This is painting as it unfolds for me in real time driven by whatever holds my attention in the moment."

A beautiful commission by J.D. Hull sits in front of the meeting rooms inside the Forvis Mazars building on St. Louis street. We worked with them to bring this unique and inviting triptch full of color and texture into their space.

The centerpiece of this installation is "Monument Valley," a striking 48"hx60"w piece painted by J.D. Hull in 2018. The Forvis Mazars team fell in love with it, but the massive wall space demanded something with a bit more presence. Instead of moving on to a different piece, a custom triptych was the perfect answer. J.D. Hull seamlessly expanded the horizon by adding two 48"hx24"w canvases to either side of the original.

Projects like this highlight exactly why we love collaborating on custom commissions. There is nothing quite like working hand-in-hand with businesses, homeowners, and our incredible artists to problem-solve and tailor a piece perfectly to its environment. Whether it's adjusting the scale, playing with color, or dreaming up something entirely new, we love helping you bring specific visions to life.

Also shown: "A Light in Dark Times", 40"hx30"w hanging in a conference room at Forvis Mazars

Texture and color beautifully dominate the work of J.D. Hull. These striking compositions merge deep, complex color with powerful, heavy horizontal lines to create a stunning, static-like sense of movement. Which one resonates with you more? "Blue Bayou Under Moonlight" or "A Revelation of Autumn"?
