The Wallis Annenberg Wildlife Crossing over the 101 Freeway in Agoura Hills has hit another construction milestone! Crews began placing the first layers of soil on what will become a nearly 1-acre native wildlife habitat.

Once it's completed in 2026, the wildlife crossing will be the largest bridge of its kind in the world. https://abc7.la/4hS04wz

Now is the time to take a stand for the Sierra because nature can’t defend itself—but together, we can.

Spring is a season of renewal—a moment to pause, reflect, and recommit to protecting the stunning yet vulnerable Sierra Nevada region we all cherish.

The Sierra isn’t just California’s playground; it’s our lifeline, providing 60% of the state’s drinking water, a sanctuary for countless wildlife species, and vital forests that store carbon and help combat climate change.

Yet today, our Sierra Nevada faces threats greater than ever before. Accelerating climate change, devastating wildfires, prolonged droughts, and weakening environmental protections have placed our forests, rivers, and wildlife at risk. This past year, we’ve made significant strides in protecting and restoring the Sierra, but we cannot rest on past achievements alone. With environmental protections under threat, your support is more critical now than ever before. We have one shot to turn this around—and it starts with people like you.

The Sierra gives us everything. It’s time we give back. Now is the time to take a stand for the Sierra because nature can’t defend itself—but together, we can.

This Earth Month, we invite you to join our efforts to fight for protection, restore damaged ecosystems, and mobilize communities to defend our lands by knowing and supporting our programs:

1. Restoring forests and watersheds severely impacted by drought and wildfire.
2. Protecting wildlife habitats from destructive development projects.
3. Fighting for policies that defend the Sierra from exploitation

Thank you for standing with us in defense of California’s most treasured landscapes. We wish you a vibrant and joyful spring season.

WildPlaces may be winding down (intentionally and by intrepid forces), but we planted seeds for 20 years in the woods and in your hearts-you can't deny it, so don't. Well, the seeds have sprouted and here is one lovely climbing, powerful person and her work:

(BTW, somebody please share this feed with Garza and company. He planted some of those seeds- can't deny it)
