Did you ever want to try you hand at blacksmithing? Here's your opportunity, on July 11th 2026 from 10am - 3pm The Colerain Forges Mansion will be having its first of hopefully many blacksmithing workshops.
Join historical blacksmith Dave Petit as he guides you though the basics of blacksmithing using historical methods with tools of the trade. No experience or tools needed. Tools and materials will be provided. Cost is $60 per person.

May 22, 1822 David Stewart and Sarah Walker were married. David was the manager of Pennsylvania Furnace and Sarah was the daughter of John Walker of Alexandria, Huntingdon Co. In 1831, David became the ironmaster of Colerain Forges and moved his young family to the Colerain Forges Mansion. The Stewart family lived in the mansion from 1831-1919.

The Colerain Forges Mansion is looking for a few extra volunteers to help with the Bluegrass concert on June 19th, 2026. Some of the tasks that we will need help with are parking, site prep, and clean up afterwards. Grammy-nominated FRANK SOLIVAN AND DIRTY KITCHEN performing outdoors at the beautiful and historic Colerain Forges Mansion just a short, country drive from State College, Huntingdon, Tyrone, and Altoona. A great way to end the workweek with fine music on a warm summer solstice evening.
Friday, June 19. Grounds open at 6:00 PM with Showtime 7:00 PM. Ticket Price: $20.00

Looking for something to treat Mom to? Consider bringing her for a tour tomorrow of The Colerain Forges Mansion! Open tomorrow April 10th 2026 for tours starting at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm.

You can visit coleraincenter.org to book a tour or walk-on at your chosen time.

Colerain History Day was a great day! We were visited with a steady flow of interested folks. All the interpreters spent the whole time engaged with discussing their trades.

Colerain thanks all that took some time out of their day to visit us. We also whole heartily thank all the historical interpreters for their donation of time in helping Colerain with their mission of education, preservation, and the arts.

We are open today May 3rd for house tours.
Tours are at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm.
$10 for adults and $5 for kids 6-16
