Meet our artists: Linda Layton - Oil
I love working with oils. Oil is a medium that allows more flexibility, the ability to work more free, changing & forming the image as I go along. I like working large and focusing on an image, its composition, drawing the viewer in, noticing shape, texture & color. I don’t want unnecessary white space. I want big, bold & beautiful. Meet our artists-Amy Jamison, watercolor: "I am a visual artist creating contemporary, vibrant still life paintings in watercolors. Through my work, I support and celebrate regenerative farming and locally grown food. I am inspired by the effort it takes to grow things ethically and the inherent beauty that results in things we often overlook. My process includes sourcing food from local farms. I set up still lifes and photograph them, then use my photos as reference when I paint. I use layers of transparent watercolors on cold press paper and wet on wet and wet on dry techniques." https://maomgallery.com/

Meet our artists: Julie Beard – Cold Wax Painting
Julie loves abstract painting using Cold Wax Medium. The softened beeswax, mixed with oil paint, is best applied with palette knives, brayers, & squeegees. Many layers – sometimes mixed with powdered pigments, sand, river mud and/or paper lead to unexpected results and hints of artistic mystery. Julie has been a resident artist at the gallery, showing gourd art; she has recently juried in with cold wax painting.

Welcome New Missouri Artists on Main New Artists!!

Dear Art Collector,
I am proud to invite you to the "Meet and Greet" for our new resident artists at Missouri Artists on Main. Their artwork is amazing. They have all been through our strict jury process and are now part of our resident artist in the gallery. I'd like you to meet the following new artist:
Julie Beard - Cold Wax Paintings
Julie has been with MAOM for a number of years but has ventured out from 3D gourds to 2D Cold Wax Paintings. Julie has won many awards in her new medium. I can't wait for you to see them.
Amy Jamison - Watercolor fruit and vegetables.
Amy is from Warrenton, Mo and has taught art for many years and is a professional artist showcasing her work through the national juried art shows throughout the United States. She has won many awards. Most recently her painting "Cherry on Top" will be featured in all the media materials for a nationally know prestigious art fair in Michigan.
Linda Layton - Oil florals
Linda is a first grade teacher who in her spare time paints large flowers in oil. Her work was featured in the St. Louis Art Fair Emerging Artists Series. "Renee's Purple Iris" was given the Arts Council Choice Award and used to promote the Midwest Salute to the Arts show last year. Her artwork will stop you in your tracks when you see the size and amazing colors!
Mary Polanc - Watercolors in a variety of subjects
Mary has worked in the graphic arts field since her degree in that field. Her work is very colorful and once she started painting in watercolor, she fell in love with the medium!! Mary has won many awards in watercolor and will be an fresh face in the gallery.
Ann Marie Rausch - Painted wooded objects and furniture
Ann Marie finds home in Springfield, Missouri. She paints whimsical 3D objects. Some objects are boxes, platters, chairs and more. They are so beautiful with her crisp images that bring out everyday functional objects.

Meet our new artists: Ann Marie Rausch – Painted Wood
I paint vividly colorful hand painted furniture & other wood items. I am a planner. I plan each piece out from drawing them to scale, to what color will go where, which all shouts back to my architectural background I chose wood furniture to be my “canvas” for its unique statement and functionality. At any time, it could be the furniture, a pattern, a color combo or design that will be my inspiration for creating a piece of artwork. https://maomgallery.com/

In this workshop we will introduce the figure into the landscape using dramatic color and contrast and will utilize great design concepts in order to create more exciting work! The workshop will include demonstrations along with class and individual discussion. Students will have the option to work along with provided subject matter or choose a subject of their own with which to apply the techniques.
