We use this space to experiment, discover and design new exhibitions that debut in St. Louis and travel nationally and globally.

𝐿𝑒𝑒 𝒜𝓁𝑒𝓍𝒶𝓃𝒹𝑒𝓇 𝑀𝒸𝒬𝓊𝑒𝑒𝓃 & 𝒜𝓃𝓃 𝑅𝒶𝓎: 𝑅𝑒𝓃𝒹𝑒𝓏-𝒱𝑜𝓊𝓈 is coming to the this month.

Brilliant, dynamic, and provocative, the British fashion designer Lee Alexander McQueen founded his eponymous label in 1993 and also led design at Givenchy between 1996 and 2001. Soon after he joined Givenchy, he met French photographer , whose stunning photographs recorded and inspired McQueen’s work behind the scenes and in runway shows for the next thirteen years. Combining Ray's intimate portraits and backstage images, along with key garments from McQueen’s most celebrated fashion collections and design drawings, this exhibition provides a unique insight into the creative process of this influential and complex figure.

𝘈 𝘘𝘶𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘞𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯: 𝘈𝘥𝘰𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘈𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘵𝘺𝘱𝘦𝘴 is on view at the Fresno Art Museum through January 8, 2023. The exhibition asks us to consider various models of femininity as represented through fashion, film and fine art photography and is meant to engage visitors of all ages and backgrounds. Take your little ones to see it this holiday season!

Feeling fierce this Friday and it’s a perfect time to highlight the Heroine archetype on view in 𝘼 𝙌𝙪𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙒𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣: 𝘼𝙙𝙤𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙙 𝘼𝙧𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙩𝙮𝙥𝙚𝙨 at . The Heroine archetype is at once delicate and feminine while evoking fearless strength. She betrays tenacity, physical strength and mental resolve via evocatively battle-ready garments that also suggest the gowns of historical queens. We are privileged to loan the incredible work from ʜʏʙʀɪᴅ ʜᴏʟɪsᴍ, ᴀᴜᴛᴜᴍɴ/ᴡɪɴᴛᴇʀ 𝟸𝟶𝟷𝟸 for this particular installation in Fresno. Swipe ➡️ to see it installed with a headpiece by from our collection.

The exhibition includes twenty-two fine art photographs by , each paired with text edited by social worker Vanessa Fabbre illuminating the stories of the subjects.

The Newcomb Art Museum presents original exhibitions that explore socially engaged art, civic dialogue, and community transformation.The museum’s Fall exhibitions explore themes of aging, identity, visibility, change, transition, and movement and we are thrilled the exhibition will be included.

One week ago we joined designers, artists and fashion enthusiasts to celebrate the opening of 𝘼 𝙌𝙪𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙒𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣: 𝘼𝙙𝙤𝙧𝙣𝙚𝙙 𝘼𝙧𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙩𝙮𝙥𝙚𝙨 at the Fresno Art Museum.
