If you come on the 10th, you can start your day with the Mardi Gras Parade just a few steps from the train station. Then ride the train and enjoy the all-day Mardi Gras Festival before or after your ride. The first train rolls out at noon on February 10th and at 10 am on the 17th. Before and after the train ride, you can tour the St. Marys Railroad Museum and watch the model trains make their run, or try your skills at axe throwing with the infamous Flying Hawks II Axe Throwing Team.

This post is long overdue. On July 31st, the St Marys Railroad Museum & Model Railroad Club lost their finest. John Gantz passed away and will forever be missed. He was the nicest man you could have ever met, always had a smile and never would say good bye, always "later". You are missed by all you met and I hope your legacy may live on in the museum for generations.

If you're a coffee drinker or if you have friends or family who would enjoy a great coffee, please go to Once Upon a Bookseller and get a pound of Pecan Hill Coffee Roasters most delicious coffee. Proceeds go to St. Marys Little Theatre to help recover from the hurricane impact. A big thank you to Regina Adkins and Pecan Hill Coffee Roasters for this special fundraising event. You have several flavors to choose from. A one pound bag is $15 and believe me, you would pay more than that for this quality of gourmet brew. Thank you so much for sharing and/or purchasing the coffee to help cultural arts in our community. The bookstore requests checks or cash please. Their phone number is 912-882-7350 if you need to ask about hours, etc. We appreciate any help you all can give us so that we can continue to bring crowd-pleasing live theatre productions to our community.

Clean out your closets for a good cause!
St. Marys Little Theatre would very much appreciate your help. Because we had to postpone our season opening show, THE SECRET GARDEN, due to the hurricane which flooded the theatre building, we desperately need to raise some money to pay our electric bill and produce the Christmas show. Please look through your home and see if you have items you could donate for our fundraising yard sale September 30. Our director of fundraising, Lori Floyd, will be at Theatre by the Trax to receive any donations this coming week Monday through Thursday from 5 to 6 pm. Back door of theater building will be open. If you cannot make it at that time, please call Lori at 520-840-2827, or just leave on the theater front porch and we will take inside. Thank you so very much for any help you can give us. We appreciate our community and how we all help each other during tough times. The September 30 yard sale coincides with the St. Marys citywide yard sale, so come on down and shop and dine in downtown St. Marys that day. Our merchants and restaurants were affected by the storm as well so they would appreciate your patronage.
